Hi,Just moved in to new house and radiators have started giving off a horrible fishy smell when they get hot (we had tested the system before we comitted to buyand seemed o.k.).The boiler is a worcester 28 si II - 3 years old (works fine) but rads look older. Is it just a case of flushing each radiator out or is there a more serious problem. We were told that the system has not been used properly for 12 months.Appreciate any advice Thanks.

Smell can only be comming from the external surface of the radiators - Try cleaning and spraying with air freshener

Also check that no-ones stuffed prawns down the convector plates    seen it before when the mover was'nt pleased with the buyer for some reason

Have the rads been sprayed? Some enamels smell wierd.

Yeah i think one or two of the rads may have been painted over.Haven't moved in proper yet so cant be sure. Will also check for expired shellfish !!!

I drained a customers rad the other day, and the smell from the water was totally FISHY.

Disgusting, might it be a cheapo inhibitor ?.
