Solid fuel oven range and back boiler problem!

I've connected up the pipes to a pressure tester and tested for leaks, and its all sound!
But, when a fire is lit and its burning away, smoke appears to be seeping out of the water feed / outlet pipes!!!

Any ideas?!

Cheers - Wardster

Hi,

It depends what you call 'out'. Smoke may be coming from the seal where the pipes enter the casing of the range, in which case the firebricks around the pipes inside the range need sealing properly. Smoke and flames should not come in contact with the pipework and fittings.

If the pipes just appear to smoke on the surface then the only thing it can be is some contaminant, grease, etc, evaporating with the heat of the pipe. This will soon be burnt off.

Rgds.

Smoke, Smoke from the range .Where the seal and the asbestos rope lay...where never is heard a discouraging word ...tho` I sit and ****take all day
