Are they suitable for fixed wiring?

CO2000 - check here for cable size requirements if you want to lengthen them.

Thanks for the info,

Will there be a problem going to say 7m ?? (the flying leads are only 400mm long)

Transformer is a 10-60W
Lights are 3 x 20W

Cable to lights is 0.75mm

Cheers.

Be wary of volt drop. Conductor sizing is critical if you want illumination.

Have a look at the link that B-A-S showed you (above).

It's quite possible to extend the incomming cable to the transformer, but you shouldn't be extending the outgoing side cables..

If you really want to do this then consider getting IP65 downlights (painted ones will flake over time) and use either CLF GU10's or LED GU10's... LED's will be cheaper to run!!!!!!

Yes it would be the outgoing side, would it be shower rated down lights or it there any specific outdoor ones you can link regarding the GU10's ?

I see plenty houses with them but B & Q for all their selection only do the ones I got & even they were not in stock (on two visits)

Don't think homebase have them at all.

Why not go into a local wholesaler and see what they have to offer..

You will really need to get IP65 fittings, and to save you a bit of money in runing costs then you should think about using LED's --- you might run at 3W each instead of 20W,, this has an obvious cost saving considering the amount of time that they will be left on,, they will be a bit more expensive to buy though.

Cast fittings are better than pressed and if you get chrome or something like that rather than painted then it is less likely to flake (being outdoors)..
