The soil pipe in my bathroom, which is immediately over the sitting room, is routed internally along a wall; it's boxed in and the boxing is tiled with a 140mm skirting board.
When the WC is flushed it is very noisy downstairs so I'd like to soundproof the pipe, if it can be done, with a minimum of disruption i.e. I don't want to strip off the tiles and dismantle the boxing.
Is there anything effective on the market that can be injected into the soil pipe boxing by perhaps drilling through the skirting board? What about vermiculite or perlite?
Any ideas/thoughts appreciated.
