Stiff clutch pedal

Hello all

Over the last six months the clutch pedal on my nissan almera 1997 has become very stiff and I have to push it right down to get reverse, any suggestions.

Is the clutch, cable operated, or hydraulic?

Thanks Wotan for you reply, the clutch is cable and I had a new one about 12 months ago

it's possible its partially seized again.
