Stihl products on ebay

Hi,

Has anyone ever bought any Stihl tools of ebay? Any think to look for/what out for?

After a strimmer there looks to be a good one on ebay at the moment. Is the FS 80 model any good please?

If it's a Stihl, it will be good. If it's from eBay, it could be the bargain of the century, or the biggest pile of crap going.

Read the description, look at the pictures, ask questions. Pays yer money, takes yer chance.

I would say a Stihl is overkill for a DIYer. (Unless you have a humungous garden, in which case you'd pay someone to come round and do it!)

You can get a Ryobi strimmer/hedge cutter for a one'er on screwfix.

same with any product you buy on e-ebay. could be a bargin, could be a bag of spanners. if its been run with no oil in the mix etc, then its going to be knackered. if its been looked after, then well worth the money.

Buy what suits you. from a professional opinion, try a ryobi and try a stihl and youll see the difference, but its horses for courses. Stihl do make entry level stuff aimed at the diyer as well
