Stop cock tap not turning

Hi All,
Sadly not tried my main stop cock for a while and now need to turn off but it will not turn.

Any tips please to sort this out-
will WD40 help ?

Do you have one in the street?

Which way are you turning it? Try an adjustable spanner on it, but not too heavy handed.

Undo the gland nut first then apply wd40 and try and turn both ways to loosen the tap.
