Stop/Reset switch for pump question........

The stop button should be the very first item in series in the control circuit, for safety reasons.

Regards

As long as it's in series with the coil and no parallel branch around it then it'll serve it's purpose. The yanks tend to have the overload contact between the coil and 'neutral'.

I'd say this unit was/is meant to have a remote start/stop using the local stop/reset as the overload reset. I don't see the point of using this without a remote start/stop unit added... especially with a 12A overload. What ampage is the motor?
