strange fishy smell

Does the fact that smell is directly related to the heat mean anything? The hotter is outside the worse the smell.

Is the smell only inside the house,(gotta think outside the box here) and are you sure it's not something local.

Yeah. It's coming from the hallway. Can't smell it outside. It's not local. We don't have the neatest house in the world but it isn't gross. Really, it smells like it is coming from the ceiling or the walls.

Not possible. Laws of science prohibit it.

As a matter of fact we do. It is located on the other side of the bathroom which happens to be at the end of the hallway where the smell is most concentrated.

get the heat pump / ductwork checked out / serviced also check / clean / replace the filters

are the ciciadas as loud there as in tn ;)

oh at last an answer to the question asked repeatedly.. yo DO have air con then...

it's either linked to the electrics feeding it ( presuming you only have it on when it's hot or do you use it for heat in te winter as well? ), or something to do with contaminents on the evaporator coil ( they should be sterilised every so often to kill bacteria etc.. )

standing water in the drip trays etc can cause it..

is it really fishy or kind of dirty sock smell?

there is something often refered to as "dirty sock syndrome" that is when heat pumps defrost the coils and is prevalent in heat pumps when you switch over from heating in the winter to cooling in the summer..
