Looking at those calcs, where has she got 'ceiling storage 5.0kN/m2' from?

That's about 100 lbs/sq ft, unless I'm missing something.

Seeing the pics, those beams just look so 'wrong'........... :eek:
 
Off the top of my head I reckon a single 203x133x30 would be plenty.
 
Holy crap, that's bomb proof. We have a single glulam beam for a longer length than that!

(The photo doesn't show where it joins to another glulam though)

There is an other beam directly below one of the purlins (254mm x 146mm x 43kg) which will be used to support the high level storage area.

We managed to get this up with the help of a delivery lorry and his Hiab.
I will post a section drawing shortly....
