It depend what the other end is connected to and how it's connected.

My Thermostat is a Sunvic TLX5101 and I have a standard boiler system.
What makes you think it may be wired incorrectly?

No such thing as a "standard boiler system".

What is the make and model of your boiler?

Assuming the correct colour wires are used, no, it isn't wired correctly.

If Blue is neutral it should be in 2.

If red is live it should be in 1.

If the yellow is the switched live it should be in 8.

1 Red is the live

3 Yellow is the switch live.

2 blue I can only assume is the neutral.

Can't remember in the wiring center.

Dave H will confirm hopefully

Should Blue be in 2 , red in 1 and yellow in 8.
At the thermostat - Yes.

It's not a good idea to leave the earth wire floating in the air. There's no terminal you can connect it to, so the safest thing is to terminate it with a small terminal block. The other end is correctly terminated in the junction box.

Everyone here has missed the biggest error. Too much exposed copper on the wires.

In my system I also have another neutral wire. Should I connect this to terminal 2 along with the power supply neutral or just cap it off like the earth wire?

Depends what the other end is connected to, but if it's not used and doesnt appear to do anything i'd put it into a terminal block to make it safe.
