Hi

I have a Honeywell thermostat in my hall which I believe from looking at pictures on google is t6360. I have purchased a DT92e which I would like to use as a replacement as the existing stat's temperature is way off.

I've had a quick search but am unsure exactly how to wire the new stat, I understand that it only requires two wires instead of the existing three but I think the colours of the existing stat are throwing me. Currently I have:

1 - green/yellow
2 - blue
3 - brown

If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated

You can use the same wire but I would advise making some changes at the other end as whoever installed the thermostat is using the green/yellow earth wire to carry 240Vac.

If you can provide more details of your system I can tell you what to do.

Do you have motorized valves?
Do you have a wiring centre (junction box) where everything connects?

If so, take the lid off and post a pic showing the wiring.

I thought the wiring colours were slightly off.

Am I right in thinking that current set up is
1 - live - (green/yellow)
2 - neutral - (blue)
3 - switched live - (brown)

meaning it should be Green/Yellow to A and Brown to B?

I'll have to double check the other end

That's correct.

The danger is that some unsuspecting person may see a green/yellow wire and think it the earth - with possibly dire consequences.

meaning it should be Green/Yellow to A and Brown to B?
No. It should be brown to A; blue (with a red sleeve) to 3.

But this will mean moving brown to green/yellow, and blue to brown, at the other end. The redundant green/yellow should then be connected to the local earth terminal and made safe (terminal block) at the stat end.

I thought the colours had been done the wrong way really

No. It should be brown to A; blue (with a red sleeve) to 3.

Is that assuming that the cables have been changed the other end to be:

Brown - Live
Blue (with a red sleeve) - Switched Live
Green/Yellow - Neutral

If so I'll double check the box the other end this weekend and post a picture if unsure

Green/Yellow - Neutral NO, this should be connected to the earth terminal. The DT92E does not need a neutral
That's basically correct. See the last para of my previous reply which said how to swap the wires at the other end.
