Although I haven't collected the new radiator, I'm estimating that my pipes are going to be approx 20-30mm too short for connecting a new double rad up where my single used to be.

The pipes come through the wall so I'm not really sure how I'm supposed to go about extending them or trying to pull a little extra through or am I going to have to put a hole in the plasterboard to inspect further?

Can you not get slightly longer L-shaped connectors that connect to the bottom of the valves to compensate for the difference?

Cheers!

Why not just use extensions instead of standard tail peices ? These will work.

Or do you mean the other way from the wall outwards? Can u not just use any play in the pipes? Failing that solder and run the extra pipe u need.

Yeah sorry, I meant from wall outwards. The current distance between the wall and the centre of the inlet/outlet is 55mm, whereas on the new radiator, the drawing says 79-89mm. I recently had the radiator off the wall and there's no movement on the pipework so it's looking like soldering and extending is the only option from what you say.

It's 10mm copper pipework too so not sure if that has any effect on the ease of the job?

I wonder if you could get away with using something like this;

The push fit fixing might give you an extra bit of length
