I know this will annoy the stirrers (am I one ??? Possibly.) who frequent this forum but in my opinion none of the potential new leaders of the Labour Party are going to make the party any more electable. In fact if the Labour Party stays on on the Corbynistic track they will never get into power again IMO. Having said that where the h ell are the Unions. I know Thatcher decimated the unions but they are still there and they were the founders of the Labour party which is now a travesty of it's former self.

I'll let you lot "discuss" this amongst yourselves because I know it will end up in a slanging match.

I dont think this is a controversial subject -most would agree apart from out and out Corbyn supporters.

RLB is saying she wants to extend the democratisation of the Labour party......giving labour members power, put Corbyn and Momentum in charge. Sadly they arent ready to accept where the failure lies.

Labour seem to have spent all their energy hating Blair and moderates, yet refusing to acknowledge Blair made Labour electable and he also managed to achieve some key policies which this socialist labour government want -reduce inequality, reduce hospital waiting times etc.

If it wasn't for Brexit labour might have won the election, but many traditional labour voters are so anti-EU they voted Tory just to ... get Brexit done.

The way things are going I can't see the tories staying in power too much longer - by 2024 we'll know if Brexit was a fantastic idea or not, and the people will decide if they want to continue with the tory austerity (it will continue even though we'll be told its over) or actually start making the UK a better place to live.

You missed out taking us into an unjustified war with Islam which has spread across the World, causing death and misery to hundreds of thousands. Truly a great man.

sadly your intellectual capaicty doesnt extend to the point I was making.

obv too deep for you

And yet we still wave the flag of St George, that has been used since the days to he Crusades, where our soldiers marched across Europe to slaughter Muslims in "our" holy land.

Funny how we are so proud of our country and history, while at the same time critical of people who have carried on in the same vain. And like the original crusades that were about trade, partnerships, working together etc. as well as trying to conquer the holy land (ultimately failed, got kicked out), war with Iraq was also about forging new alliances.

Were the crusades a good thing? Was war in Iraq a good thing? Probably safe to say no in both instances. But hey ho, onward Christian soldiers, Cry God for Harry, England and St. George!!

(I think I forgot to take my pill this morning)

Refreshing to see someone with an open mind. Many on here, top economists the lot of 'em:rolleyes:, have already looked into the future and are hoping and praying that it all turns to s hit.

No, they aren't. Don't be so silly.

They are just worried that it will turn to s hit.

Care to mention any good wars ?
Wars started by the west nowadays are almost always commercially motivated...

So anyone who has joined up in the last few decades definitely ain't the sharpest tools in the box!

Wars waged on the west are usually based on warped religious justifications, but also provoked by western attempts to dominate...

There are of course no good wars, so maybe it should be phrased 'care to mention any justified wars'?

Also, it was not a war with Islam, we we fighting the Iraqi government to control its oil. No, not oil, because of the big weapons, they had really really big and dangerous weapons that were very bad and nasty. So we had to blow them up so they couldn't blow themselves up.
