Thermocouple

Hi - please can anyone advise if all gas boilers have thermocouples? In particular I need to know if a Potterton Profile 60e has one. Cheers v much!

No Trace they don't. The potterton Profile has electronic ignition and flame sensing via it's pcb. So no thermocouple on that boiler
 
That's great thanks - my sister had someone to repair hers & he's told her to go & buy a thermocouple, An air pressure switch & a gas valve & solenoid & then he'll fit them! Didn't sound right to us at all! Thanks very much for your help.
 
Sounds like your sister needs to get a decent engineer in, may just need servicing. Definetly don't think so much has failed at same time on one boiler.

Cheers for your help everyone - she's told the other bloke not to come as there's not enough room on the drive for the stagecoach so she's got a "proper" guy coming round now! Thanks!
