Hi All

I have just purchase a house with oil central heating, which I know nothing about. I have a number of covers/caps on the top of the tank. Could someone tell em what each 1 is so I at least have a clue.

I have attached a pciture

Thanks

The yellow cap is the fill point.
The large black cap is an inspection cap.

The red cap is for the Ultrasonic Guage.

And I think the other one is a vent.

My tank has one cap. Which is the fill point, inspection and vent.
All in one.

Thanks for that

What would be the best way to secure the tank. I could probably get a lock to replace the yellow cap but not sure about the black 1

Thanks

Glenn

Not really worth it as, at the end of the day, it's plastic and easy to cut a hole in it.

The black cap with the white dot is a sender for a Watchman gauge.
There should be a lid which covers the large hole. This large hole needs covering as whilst open, it is letting in water which eventually fill the bund and allow the inner tank to float, rupturing the outlet and emptying your oil.
