Im having some fencing done, closeboard panels with convex trellis on top. Just an opinion really, what do you guys prefer... diamond or square? I was going for a 2" gap inbetweenthe slats.

I prefer hawthorn, brambles and gorse, anything to keep the pikies out

diamond looks better on teh curved stuff i personally think

Yes im lookin into spikey foilage and anti climb paint also. Yes I was thinking the diamond stuff does too, just wasnt sure.
Unfortunately double the price for the quallity stuff, but hey always the way!

If you're having posts and panels, remember to wire the panels together so they can't be lifted up.

even have to secure your fence panels
must be bad
and thats only what the 10 yrs are up to.

I know its a dumb Q, but how do I go about securing the panels with wire? Im using concrete posts. Cheers

if you want it to look like a cowboy construction then use wire. If you want it to look decent, then screw the trellis from behind into teh capping of the fence panels.

Painful!
Would a diamond trellis look ok with a closeboard fence? One of the installers feels that square would match the panels better. What do you guys think. Also has suggested serpentine rather than a convex. Cant find any finished projects with serpentine anywhere!

personally i think square looks better, as does square topped rather than concave etc. Your choice.
