Hi all,
My controller for my boiler is a basic on/off timer with a hot water stat, but no central heating stat. I have TRV's on all my rads except the bathroom. Is this setup okay/sufficient or would it be better to have a room thermostat?

you must have a room stat really

the regs say that you must ahave a boiler interlock (ie cyl or room stat)

this is because the TRV have no way of telling the boiler the ambient temperature in the property

for arguments sake lets say you have left you heating timer to come on a a really really hot august day.

all the trvs will be shut cos the rooms will be hot but the boiler will carrying on firing up as it doesnt know they are all closed

Thats what a room thermostat does

I hope this helps as I have had a few and my power of description may be off

:)

you need to put it between the timer and any heating valve you have

you can break the live only by using a drayton combi stat no neutral needed or fit any room stat (some require the neutral)
