Just had a new boiler fitted and it would appear the pipework has been connected up flow of bolier connected to return of central heating circuit.
This means the TRVs on all the rads are now on the return side.
Can someone tell me if this is detrimental to the working/operating of the system in any way?

They can be installed on the return, but with some it matters which way around they are installed. (They have an arrow on the body showing the direction of flow) with others it doesn't matter.

No not really worst thing that may happen is if the TRVs are old they might start to make noises when trying to close when they are on the return, if you start getting shuddering or clunking noises when the rads are hot then its likley cause is the TRVs on the wrong way round.

Are you sure it has been connected that way?

Most TRV's are bi-directional so it doesn't really matter.

There should be an arrow on the valve body indicating the direction of flow. However, ideally they should be put on the flow it's not as if it is quicker or easier not to

Have reversed the flow where it's been convenient, but started to get problems so wouldn't now.

Quite often the bidirectional ones do have to be turned round for noise. Even expensive ones like TRV4s. Usually you can shut them up by turning the lockshield right down but sometimes you need more flow than that, for the rad to work.

A combis pump pressure can hold them shut when they're backwards, too.

i hope it's a combi you are talking about or the pipework maybe wrong in the airing cupboard too
