Hello All.

I need to move a PIR down the wall a bit so I can lower the ceiling.
Obvoiusly though if I try to open up the PIR I get the alarm going off with tampering. If I try to turn the power off to the alarm then all hell breaks loose and the siren starts outside.

I have Securit 800L alarm system.

Any advice on how to move this PIR would be appreciated.

By the way I have checked that I have enough slack with the cables.

Thanks

you have a flat battery in your system too.

Leave the power onto the alarm.

Open the PIR. This will cause the alarm to go off due to the tamper.

Punch your code into the keypad. This will silence the tamper alarm, although it will probably still show on the keypad.

Do not disconnect anything from the PIR.

Move it down the wall, and fix it in place.

Refit the cover.

You will now need to reset the panel. This is normally done by putting the code in again and pressing reset or similar. It varies between alarm manufacturers.
