Hi,

We have a tumble dryer and whenever we turn it on the whole room gets drenched (floor and walls are tiled).

It is against an outside wall - am I right in thinking we can put a hole in the wall to vent the dryer?

Is this something I could do myself?

Cheers

Simon

If you can get a hose kit for it.....then hire a diamond core drill and make the hole .cost £45.00 or so. ;)

a tumble dryer vent kit can be bought from most diy places. once you have one decide where to best position the hole (nearer to the internal floor level the better as tumble dryers discharge low to the ground) next drill a hole 100mm diameter through the wall, this can be done using a hole cutter ( hire one from tool hire centre) or a series of holes using a regular drill and masonry bit works too. simply draw round a piece of plastic drain pipe and drill on the line 15mm apart then knock out with a hammer and chisel. next read the instructions to fix your kit.
