Tv keeps switching itself off

I have a philips 28" widescreen TV 4 1/2 years old.

While you are watching it sometimes it switches itslef off (onto stand by) If I try to switch it back on it goes back to stand by, it can take up to 40 times of keep switching it on for it to come back on.

What is wrong with it?

Can I get it fixed? If so how much (just an estimate)

Should I just get a new TV?
