Hi Guys

Not sure if this goes here or under electrics but; I would like to update my room thermostat from the old school spinner to a more up to date digital version.

Currently the boiler controller is a Siemens RWB29

and the room thermostat downstairs is a bog standard Honeywell

I would like to change this to something like this:
ae235

Is this something that needs specialist attention or is it just a case of like for like wire swapping?!

Cheers!

Just going back to this - what does 'make 2 safe' encompass? Putting it into a 'choc block' and leaving it in the wall or something else?

On the old 'stat:

5 was Live (brown)
2 was in an earth sleeve but not in the earth (earth sleeve)
3 was neutral (blue)

In that case, use brown and blue, but make sure blue is now NOT the neutral.
If you are upgrading, go for programmable room thermostat instead of just digital thermostat.
