hi im building a wall for a friend but im a bit weary of doing it ill explain. I am building 9 inch x 9 inch 4 foot high brick pillars of a existing 9 inch wall i am putting a bar through the existing wall to stregthen the pillars is this safe or are they to high .

If these pillars are to be used as retainers for a fence panel then forget it. They will be over in a slight wind.

I woyuld not trust anything less than an 18" pillar, or a 13" at a push depending on function.

No, refuse to do it. They will be over in a good wind.

In my opinion you need some meat, i.e 18" x 18" pillars.
