I have a Vailant boiler.
What maintainance do these units need?
My plumber says they require very little.
It has been in for over three years with minimal attention and works fine.

Its normal to have an annual service.

Thats required each year to keep the warranty validated!

The Pro will be out of warranty by now, it should still be serviced annually though to maintain performance and efficiency. If you want to know what this involves, read the manual

At the very least, any condensing boiler should have the condensate trap emptied and cleaned every year, and the combustion exhaust tested. Your boiler has failed its manufacturers warranty by not being given a service history.
