Vaillant TURBOmax VUW 242 E - HW overheats and cuts out

i'm having problems with the turbomax in my girlfriend's rented house where the hot water system overheats and cuts out after a few moments of operation then comes back on again - so hot water goes intermittently boiling hot then cold.

pressure is at about 1.5 bar and the problem happens whatever setting the hot water dial is turned to.

any ideas if i can do anything myself to sort it out or do i need to tell the landlord to get someone in?

any help appreciated.

On HW only probably plate heat exchanger blocked

if your renting its not a diy job. get someone in. classic plate heat exchanger fault as above.

Don't do anything in rented house; get the landlord to do it, that is what you pay rent for.
