Hi,

I have a Vaillant VCW GB 242/282 EH and I have just changed the pressure differential sensor as it was leaking badly, it had corroded all over the servo valve below it.
Whilst trying to open the servo valve I took off the temperature?? knob on the lower front portion as it has been frozen into a single position since I moved into the house. Whilst trying to free it up I broke the little plastic threaded rod, will it work without that bit, or am I stuffed till I get a relacement???
Also what is that part called when I try and order it.

Think you are on about the knob on the water section at the centre bottom of boiler.. just about all of these are seized as no one uses it and later valves didn`t have them so if not leaking no worries

Thanks,

Thats good to know, I put it back together without the very end bit,and the max flow rate is much much higher now, so that is a plus really.

I have a vcw 242 eh in my new house, the water section has seized with what must be water temperature at full scalding hot after 1 min. I have children in the house and I am worried someone will get hurt is there any way to un seize it and reduce the temperature ? Also any ideas on where I can get a service manual PDF over the net vaillant website no help.
