Vaillant VCW GB282EH Boiler: Flue fan runs continuously

This fault is intermittent. When dometic hot water is requested the boiler runs as expected. When the hot water taps are turned off the burners stop as expected but sometimes the flue fan continues to run indefinately. If the fan is still running we switch the boiler power off and on and the fan remains off until the next time hot water is requested.

Any advice as to what may be causing this problem would be appreciated.

Get a gassafe man in to look at it.

Its sounds like a sticking relay on the PCB.

Might be time to think about replacing the boiler for a new model?

There are constraints on this forum to what advice we can give if the problem involves gas safety critical components. This is one of those situations I'm afraid.

Based on your info your boiler should be able to be repaired for under £150. Look for a Gas Safe engineer who has knowledge of this range of boilers. He may need to order a part, but its a 30 minute job.
