Hi All

I have a number of LSVs with heavy green stains on top of the gland nuts. My system has been losing pressure, but very slowly, around 0.5 bar every three months. Could these valves be leaking? There's no other visable signs of leaking water around the spindle, just the staining.

The valves are all Myson Matchmates, should I replace them and can I have your suggestions on which valves I should get?

Thanks

Sometimes the stains are from old leaks that no longer exist.

If the leak is still current, most LSV's will let you repair them in situ. First try using a spanner to tighten the gland nut. If that proves unsuccessful, turn off the valve, then undo the nut and wind PTFE tape down into the spindle.

I tightened the glands a few months ago, but the pressure still drops. The blanking nut and bleed valve have a little limescale deposit around the rubber seal, I have also tighten these.

I'm not too concerned about the amount of water being lost but it's not ideal.

Thanks

Your valves have had it, replace the lot. Whilst you are at it, cleaning your system would be a good idea too. And then inhibitor to finish the job.
