Hi,

I have just finished my bathroom. The shower tray is sat on a wooden box which intend to paint with emulsion the same colour as the room. Even though it wont get soaked it may ge tthe odd drip of water on it. Can i coat it with an acrylic varnish for extra protection? Any other suggestions?

Cheers

Tom

it will spoil the match of colour and texture with the rest of the walls . You can get "kitchen and bathroom paint" which is a sort of emulsio that stands up better to wet and scrubbing.

I have ordinary silk emulsion on my bathroom walls, it seems OK with splashes and being wiped.

Looking at your post again, if this box is wood, you could use satinwood paint, which is oil based and probably available to match your walls colour.
