vauxhall engine will it fit???

i have a 98 r reg astra diesel van mark3 1.7td.could anyone tell me if a 1.7td engine (isuzu) from a P reg 1.7TD vectra fit?the seller assures me it would but just wondered if any of u wiz kids on here would no?obviously not wanting to part with cash unless im 100% pos it will fit.can anyone help please????

Are they both the isuzu engine ?
Different engines can often be fitted but it can involve changing other parts as well, water hoses might be different, exhaust front pipe might be different etc etc it really depends how much time / effort / money you want to spend.

The newer vehicles (doesn't apply in this case) can have some of the engine management system etc, coded to the vehicle, so things get even more complicated.

From past experience its always easier to put a very similar unit back in

Do a deal with the "wiz' kid" thats selling you the motor.

Mark it with his mark (usually painted on by the seller) and if it does'nt fit take it back for a full refund, simple.

Usually there will be a time limit of a few days for you to fit the part.
