veritas 8 alarm

hope some one can help, cant seem to alter any setting on my panel, my personal code works to set and unset alarm but have been trying to alter entry/exit times but will not accept any codes only thing it will accept is walk test. Have just fitted new bell box which works fine although it uses 2 wires less than the old box, had power off for a couple of week prior to this, Eng code does not appear to be working, only my own personel code but this wont let me alter things.

You need the engineer code.
Did you ever have it?
Did you change it?

Have you enabled engineer access?

Got the manual?

Hi, yes I did have eng. code but does not seem to work, only thing i changed was my own code, how do you enable eng access when code does not work, have a manual but very old, wondering could I reset it back to factory setting, would that work or has eng. code locked. I can put my code in press program and all lights come on but cannot alter any setting etc only walk test and code change, no other codes work. thanks kevin

If you indeed had the engineers code you would have had the manual to work with.

old manual ? ? new pcb ! ! ! thats probably where your problem is as the old veritas programmed different to the newer version..

You want the one that goes Engineer code - then PROG - Not 00.

Then he tells us he had changed the board, of course its not working.

Funny how having all the info helps isnt it.

Hi all,
the reason I did not mention the new board is because it has been working fine for over 6 months, and yes I know you dont need to put 00 after entering code just program then all lights come on but it will still not allow me to do any change of settings, like i said before only my own code will let me enter program but Istill cannot alter things, it will not accept 1234 or 4321. thanks

Hi, Already tried that, by disconnecting power and battery, reconnecting and pressing tamp spring 3 times while all lights are lit just defaults to 4321, just lets me change code to my own, wont let me change anything else. kevin
