Hi

I have a problem with a very loud vibration of the hot water pipes when the washing machine stops filling, and when the kitchen hot water tap is shut off.
(I think this is called "water hammer" and may have been tackled before on this forum, but the search turned nothing up).

The problem started about a month ago and yesterday there was no noise from the tap but today it is back.

what can I try (I have cleaned the tap filter in the kitchen). Some other similar problem with cold water pipe noises on the forum seem to have been solved by replacing the ball valve - is this the same with hot water pipes??

Yours desperately

Replacing ballvalve washer or complete ballvalve should cure.
Badly clipped pipework can also make the noise worse
