I renovate about 3 properties a year, which always involves stripping off old wallpaper, often that's been painted
I currently use one of these:
http://www.screwfix.com/prods/26639/Power-Tools/Wallpaper-Stripper/Earlex-SS77-Steam-Stripper-2300W
Cheap, cheerful, okay, but does take a while to soak into the paper and so stripping's rarely fast.
I'm temtped by a professional model like:
http://www.screwfix.com/prods/24163...m_re=SEARCHPROMO-_-WALLPAPER STRIPPER-_-24163
Basically, not sure how much time it's going to knock off the jobs. If a 3 hour rooms becomes 2 hours it's probably worth it, but not sure if a lot fo the cost is to buy a more rugged trade piece of kit and hence if it would actually make the job a lot faster.
Anyone got experience of a DIY and trade stripper who can advise?
