Washing Machine reguarly won't completely spin out water

Question for all you appliance pros out there from a lady who doesn't have a clue. I have a Whirlpool Automatic Washer Large Capacity Model LA5530XS... I think a 1987 model, but I am not sure. The problem is at the end of the cycle, it doesn't fully spin out all of the water and I end up having to run it a second time to accomplish that. The back hoses are fine, nothing is leaking and nothing is blocked. The hoses are not kinked either. Does this mean it's time to buy a new washer? If so, what washer would you guys recommend? Please help this lady get a clue. Thanks!
