Here's a link to the county of Midlothian. After the 1974 boundary changes. Musselburgh is definitely in Mid Lothian.

And here's a map showing East Lothian parishes. No mention of Musselburgh.

Musselburgh isn't in Edinburgh, it's not even in the same county.
It's £3 now for a day ticket on Lothian buses. http://tinyurl.com/3xmjwru
There are many guest houses on Minto street, which is a main road into the city from the south. All the buses use that route and, it's only five minutes to the centre on the bus.

Stayed on quite a few places on Minto Street throughout the years when going to football and always found it handy - did most of my drinking/partying (not much eating) on Rose Street

Must be due to boundary changes over the years Stivino. My birth certificate says I was born in Musselburgh,Midlothian.at Pinkie Hospital.
Just out of interest, my uncle was caretaker (janitor) at Loretto School there and my aunt still lives there.
Among the famous ? people from Musselburgh is one Angus "Gus" McKenzie. Athlete and member of the 4 man Bobsled team at the 1984 Winter Olympics. My new principal claim to fame then is ,,,, I went to Loughborough College of Education the same year as him 1974 and remember him well. I think he held the High Jump record at the time ( albeit for a short while);) ;) ;)
PS just read the wikipedia and it says prior to 1975 Musselburgh was in Midlothian.

Ahh well , that's cleared that one up. ;) ;)

AS they say there is more life in a glasgow funeral than an Edinburgh wedding so perhaps your going to the wrong city
