Have been told by Ideal rep that there has been a good few problems with spark generator, but haven't come across this first hand.

Had one today showing flame loss,it was the spark generator,had another one a couple of weeks ago,but that was the gas valve full of water,gawd knows how that happened.

I am pleased to hear that the only significant problem is the spark gen.

Thats not anything very serious.

Far better than the HW leaking as the Responses used to do.

Unfortunately, I've had 2 in the past 3months where the heat exchanger was leaking internally and the water all disappearing down the condensate drain. Both replaced under warranty. According to the Ideal agent, he has seen this on "a good few of these".

had an ideal icos 24 with same problem, 2 years old.ideal fixed the problem for less than it would have cost to just buy a new heat-exchanger at trade prices.

Well it's fixed. Engineer phoned before 10am to give ETA and repaired it
it was the spark generator so we'll see how long it last's till another call to Ideal...
