Proper grommet strip, or at least the stuff I've encountered, is a lot more flexible than T/E sheath - I think it might have been butyl rather than PVC.
Yup.I used round head screws on the p clips. I didn't think it made too much difference inside the adaptable box, but I'll go back and change them if you like

Was taught that micc glands should never be terminated with locknuts, had to use couplings and male bushes with the pot enclosed in the coupling.
Not sure why, perhaps it was to protect the pot.

I was looking at some din rail connectors and they were open on one side. by that I mean you could see the cable going in and the clamping mechanism. When you tightened the screw it pushed the clamp out a little. I could not understand that. I will see if I can get a picture of one in case you don't understand what I mean.
