What glue for fibreglass mesh?

What type of glue would you recommend for attaching fibreglass mesh to a bedroom plaster ceiling? The mesh is meant to reinforce areas with cracks before skim finishing the ceiling. Would the mesh hold if I simply rolled on some PVA glue onto the mesh and put it up there?

why not just use self adhesive scrim if your going to plaster anyway
