I posted a thread 2 days ago titled 'Are Plumbers Still Installing Vented Systems?', re. a customer of mine who wants the newish combi removed and vented installed. Thanks to all who replied.

He's now coming around to the idea of an unvented cyl and poss. system boiler. Before I look into getting someone to install the cyl whilst I do the rest, I need to find out if he has sufficient flow and pressure. My questions are;

What are the min. pressures and flow needed for unvented?

What is the best method and pressure tester to test for pressure?

What are the recommended cyl makes?

Many thanks

Hi

1.5bar and 20l/min generally but some will work with less. Weir gauge and pressure tester will do for that

Ask the manufacturer's the only sure way.

Do your G3 course, it is only a day long which will answer all your questions and make you all legal to install and service unvented cylinders.

Thanks for the info everyone.

Fluffster - yes, hope to do the G3 in summer when quieter.

Any preferences for makes/models of unvented cylinders?
