    Hi
This is all a bit new to me but after some help please!

I am retiling our shower room and have stripped the plaster back to the stud. My problem is the shower will sit on one of the external wall, and not sure what type of plaster board to use?

Is it ok to use the foil backed vapour reducing on this wall, and the Green moisture resistant on the others, or is it the green with some type of vapor barrier??

the best option is to use a cement based backer board and dont plaster it. You can use marmox, no more ply or aquapanel - the latter is similar in size to plasterboard but is cement based. not to be confused with the green or foil backed plasterboard.

Hi, thanks for your advice. Does this method still require a vapour shield on the external walls, prior to installing your recommended backing board?

nope because the board doesn't degrade with moisture. You would do well to tape the joints and corners though.

No need to prime unless the adhesive manufacturer instructs you to, DONT use pva :)

They do a matching waterproof tape for tile backer boards. any brand should be fine but if you can avoid mixing manufacturers its always worth it
