What type of wall material is this?

The OP must be in the shop CCTV business judging by those blurry pics

2-3mm may be a bit thin for cement board. The test may be if the board is flexible or if the OP can't bend it with his fingers ... whilst holding his breath and with his other fingers up his nose

Sorry for the bad pics Woody, taken quickly with my mobile phone.
The 2-3mm refers to the patterned board at the front. The plaster? board behind is about 12mm thick. The plaster? between the paper crumbles very easily where it's been cut.

Right, well the board behind is not asbestos if it has a paper coating each side. As for the top board, if you look at a cut edge, you should actually be able to see some white fibres if its asbestos, can you take a nice clear picture edge on zoomed in?

cheers
let me know if this isn't clear enough and i'll borrow a digital camera.
No white fibres as far as I can see.
i can flex this board quite easily if that's any clue.

This looks like the fiberboard we used to make office partitions.

Some were coated with a hard plastic type coating, the inner core was the same stuff as used for pin/notice boards.
