Hi,

I wasn't quite sure which forum was best to post this, but felt that Woodwork was probably the closest :)

Does anyone know a supplier of 'false' ceiling beams - the ones that look like real wood, but are made from fibre-glass or some other similar material?

I recall seeing them some years ago in a shop, but typically, now that I want them I can't find them

Thanks,

Gary

Hi

I know this is an old thread, but anyone looking for false ceiling beams, reproduction oak beams, RSJ covers, etc. should take a look at the review I wrote about Bill Bradley of Oakcast Reproduction Beams who did the ones for our house.

The guy is an absolute genius and I defy anyone to spot them as false, even on pretty close inspection:

Cheers

P.S. Their current website is http://www.oakcast.com and there's also an 'under construction' site with more photos at http://www.replicabeams.co.uk/. Or you can just call them on 01302 320638.

P.P.S. This is a genuine testimonial/recommendation. I'm building them a new site because I think Bill's an absolute master at what he does and deserves as much business as I can point his way. I get no other compensation for recommending him, just the satisfaction of knowing other people can enjoy his craft.
