I am looking to tile my bathroom in honed white limestone.
Looking around, there are many different 'grades'.
I have been sent some samples, one of which is very uniform in colour with hardly any flecks or fossilisation. It almost looks like a ceramic tile.
Others are the opposite.

They are all roughly the same price, so, are the plainer tiles better that the character tiles?

Thanks

personally I would survey yourselves as a couple an your whole house style , modern , country style , Minimalist , retro , whatever ..

tiles once down are there to last say 100 years , do you go for what many do a clean easy colour , or do you dare to be bold ....

I personally would keep them uniform an colour batched ,
as I mentioned else where ...decorating styles go out very quick an those funky pebble edges could look naff in a year
but try a diamond pattern with a small border ...in a small bathroom 2m by 3m ..it will be too busy .....
you could try a herringbone pattern ....in that space
you need a good tiler to chat with an give his recommends (he will /should show his past work photos an give references )

remember once that bathroom is finished you dont have to touch it ever ..unlike other rooms
hope this helps ;)
