Before I go and start opening my dryer, is it possible to replace the button on my dryer

to start the dryer you press the button in, and it stays in while dryer operates

but now, press the button in and it comes back out when let go


I need to know is the on/off operation the button, or the switch behind it?

It is the plastic latching mechanism behind the button. The whole assembly comes complete with button can be fiddley to fit as a diy job for the first time

could I swap the button over, from the 'gentle' button that has the same action, as we dont use that setting.

No the button is part of the complete assembly and the button alone is not the problem
