Thank you.

No standard freezer there was a plug on it when my friend used it but he cut it off

Do you know the power rating of the freezer?

Some European cookers are wired like that for two 16A circuits instead of one 32A as in UK but freezers don't use much power so I cannot think why it should be like that.

Perhaps the plug has not been cut off but it was hard-wired.

Is the black one ACTUALLY a wire - or just a rubber core to give the cable structure.

Any idea why the plug has been cut-off? (Perhaps to prevent use if it's faulty)

you're sure the colours aren't

  • Black.
  • Red.
  • Blue.
  • White (may not be present).
  • Green, Green with Yellow Stripe, or Bare Wire.
Look for the maker's rating plate, probably near where the cable goes in.

please photograph any identifying marks, and the terminals where the flex connects if you can.

How old do you think it is?

Are any markings in English (on/off, etc)?

Is the cable original, do you think or has someone used an old length of three core and earth for some reason?
John :)
