Any comments please on wooden faced socket outlets and switches, comme ca.....

I'd like to know if they:
1) Show impact & wear more than conventional plastic (e.g. finger marks, plug impact dents)
2) Have any safety implications (e.g. possibly relating to flex/cable fires)

I am currently decorating the lounge and happen to think they might look smart.

I have tried a search here with no success.

Thanks in anticipation,
CB

I wouldn' bother, they look tacky, unless you are building them into a doorframe or skirting boards. Use a metal finish fitting if you want something a bit different. They do all sorts of finishes now.

You did say "any" comments....

I think they look awful.

You might like to look at the MK range of fittings that have detachable fronts. Very useful when decorating, you don't have to unscrew the fitting.

..no I am not going to get defensive about it (no really... I'm not) ;)

Well, those are two definites against. Thanks Ban, Crafty an' all. Perhaps I'll have to review my intentions. I thought they might look quite good with fairly natural looking timber furniture. I hadn't actually seen them in the flesh, so to speak, only TLC's website pages.

I appreciate the responses, though. Looks like a possible mistake avoided.

Cheers,
CB

Did you hear about the guy that built a car entirely out of wood?

Wooden body, wooden wheels, wooden engine, wooden go....
