Hi all, just had a boiler change from very old conventional to new Worcester Bosch 30si combi on the advice of plumber.
Problems are pressure related, plumber hasn't change any of the pipework apart from the obvious mains to boiler and removing all the tanking pipework, pressure ok with 1 tap on but can't have 2 hot water taps on in bathroom as 1 will go off, I did expect a fair amount of this but it does seem extreme and to be frank i wish I had stayed with conventional tank etc. My question is could there be something wrong with the installation, have asked the question to plumber but he just says thats the way it is? Good news is I ain't paid him yet, should I? Cheers

I think you would be perfectly within your rights to with hold payment.

Providing that you told him before accepting his quote that his renumeration would be dependent on the views of an internet forum he had never heard of.

It would depend IMO on what justification the plumber gave you for moving from conventional to combi and whether he explained the pro's and cons.

If he did pay him ... If he didn't ask him why he didn't explain that combi's do behave like this ... Then decide what to do next.

Sounds like you have a major problem with the incoming mains water flow (not pressure but flow).

Did your plumber carry out a flow test on the cold water supply into your property when he surveyed for the combi to confirm that the flow rate would be adequate?

So in essence the boiler is performing correctly, I was just thinking that maybe the pipework for a conventional boiler and the pipework for a combi boiler just might be different, ie should one pipe from boiler feed all other pipes as in conventional or would you have separate pipes feeding hot water to basin, bath , or maybe the pipe feeding bath & basin is not big enough now??
