Dear Team

I have a Worcester bosh 30 CDI system boiler which is 3.5 years old.

Yesterday I had a plumber switch it off to fit a new gas meter in the downstairs cupboard.

At 03:00 I heard a dripping noise and then found a leak from within the boiler from the Auto Air Vent. approx 1 drop per second. The boiler had not been running for since 22:30 the night before. I quickly drained the system which stopped the leak.

Is this a common fault? Is this a part replacement a DIY job? I'm a fairly confident technician but do not want to cause more harm than good on the boiler.

Thanks

Dear All

just in case another DIY persons visits.

Fitting the automatic air vent took a couple of mins and was very easy. The longest part of the job was draining, filling and venting the system.

part cost £7. Boiler runs lovely without any mess
