Hi I have just had to change a readiator valve as it was leaking badly. I had to drain the system in order to change the valve. Once the valve was replaced I managed to restore the pressure in the boiler.

However I have lost all my inhibitor and need to replace it. I dont know how to put it into the system and dont know what Im looking for. If anyone can shed any light it would be greatly appreciated.

Possibly.
Definitely.

Reduce the pressure back to 0 before you put the inhibitor in; drain several buckets.
